The Zimmerman-Peirce Democrats were formed in February 2024 as a response to the growing amount of anti-LGBTQ legislation introduced in Pennsylvania and nationwide. We are Pike County, PA’s first membership-driven Democratic club devoted to organizing and representing the LGBTQ community and its allies.
Our Mission:
The Zimmermann-Peirce Democrats shall work within the Democratic Party and the community at large to honor and defend the rights and lives of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) people in Pike County and throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Zimmerman-Peirce Democrats will accomplish this by 1) supporting public policies that advance the priorities of the LGBTQ community in Pennsylvania and the greater Pike County region, 2) electing qualified Democratic candidates that support equal rights for LGBTQ people and 3) working to sensitize and educate all candidates and office holders, Democratic Party leaders, and the community at large to the issues and concerns of the LGBTQ community.
About our Membership:
Membership support ensures the Zimmerman-Peirce Democrats can operate and fulfill its mission. Please consider becoming a member of the Zimmerman-Peirce Democrats with a minimum annual contribution of $25, or for students, $10. Here is what you can expect when you become a member:
- Members will receive clear, timely information related to everything voters need to know about particular election cycles, including when to register to vote by mail, when and where to sign candidates’ petitions, which candidates are running for which offices, etc.
- Members will be asked to participate in endorsement decisions so together, we can make the best decisions about which candidates to support and how we will support them.
- Members will receive invitations to fun community building events, including happy hours, live music, drag entertainment, bingo, and more.
- Members will receive opportunities to volunteer in support of our mission’s goals to educate the community, support pro-LGBTQ policies and elected pro-LGBTQ candidates.
